as far as i could recall, ive had only 2 birthday bashes. one was when i was in high-school. then, there were 4 of us with close birth-dates. myself, fahmy, i-sha and farhan. we had one cheap tasteless cake and mum cooked something for all of us. there were easily 20 people at it. now, i realized the cooking and the amount of money my parents had allocated were both beyond the household needs considering that my birthday falls on the only few days before pay-roll. my friends are certainly not the one who help with the cleaning up, what more are friendly and welcoming to my cooking mom. i hate myself now for insisting.
during college days, my birthday celebration were very much done in college while struggling with both fasting month and exams. pretty much the normal cheap cakes with a joyous chant of the well-memorized birthday song. i sometimes get more than 1 cake and that make it more difficult to finish. i enjoyed the warm-friendly-thoughts though. during my final year in varsity, i received one blueberry-cheese-cake which i honestly believe was suzi's effort. that was my only quality cake.
one second birthday bash at home was done this year when i turned 23. mom cooked macaroni that took us all morning to thicken. it turned out superbly delicious. thanks mom! i was the only one helping out with the preparation and also cleaning up the aftermath. i could not believe what my normally not-so-energetic-self could actually do under pressure.
invitees are screened. not may turned out though. gadapp and mus could not come. some thought that it started at 4 when i obviously asked them to come at 3. some said they just could not come without presents. but it all turned up fine. my bf did not turn out as well, he has to work.
i received one box of kielsden-mersk butter cookies. the can is in my bf favorite shade of blue. there was one beautiful teddy bear from atin and one superbly gorgeous bracelet from mama. all in all, it turned out okay though one lady turned up with two not listed guests. we had enuff food, enuff cakes and everything else pulled were perfect. thanks mom, dad. love both of you
